The white quartzite mountains, stunted pines and turquoise waters of Killarney have attracted artists for nearly a century. It was the work of Franklin Carmichael who first inspired the other members of the Group of Seven to visit and explore the area now known as Killarney Provincial Park.
There was pure silence as I paddled my canoe through the heavy morning mist towards the fog-shrouded shoreline of George Lake. The exquisite interplay of light, mist and autumn foliage transcends the medium, befitting a canvas as much as my film.
